Chapter Profile

Formed in 2010, the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) is host to ICMA’s inaugural Student Chapter. Every year, we seek to enrich our community with new leaders dedicated to improving our quality of life through inclusive, data-savvy city/county management. Our mission is to connect students with the leaders we are seeking to become. We cultivate these professional networks and experience through community partnerships, consulting projects, internship fairs, government tours, skill workshops, and our traditional Local Leader Community Dinner. Further, we instituted the UAB MPA Alumni Mentor Program, administered by the UAB MPA Alumni Association, to develop students and alumni into future colleagues.
