Founded in 1957, the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) serves the global retail real estate industry. Its 70,000+ members in the U.S., Canada and 85 other countries include shopping center owners, developers, managers, marketing specialists, investors, lenders, retailers and public officials. Headquartered in New York City, ICSC maintains a Global Public Policy (GPP) office in Washington, DC, that promotes community & economic development with the P3 (Public-Private Partnership) Retail Program. P3 connect communities to private sector partners through local and regional meetings, “Deal Making” sessions and “Idea Exchanges.” These events give public officials, economic developers, planners and non-profit professionals an opportunity to discuss goals and challenges and build strategic partnerships within the development community. These partnerships can lead to important retail development, which is essential to the continued growth and vitality of local communities.
