Description

The League of Kansas Municipalities is a membership association that advocates on behalf of cities, offers training and guidance to city appointed and elected officials, and has a clear purpose of strengthening Kansas communities. Since 1910, the League has been a resource for cities across Kansas and has acted as a body to share ideas, facilitate communication between members, and provide information on best practices in city operations. The League is governed by members through a governing body of elected officials and city-appointed staff. The mission of the League is to strengthen and advocate for the interests of the cities of Kansas to advance the general welfare and promote the quality of life of the people who live within our cities. The League Executive/Administrative Position Search (LEAPS) program assists member cities in filling city executive positions. The League offers a multi-faceted program that can be tailor-made to fit the needs of each city. Over the years, the League has successfully placed city executives in over 80 cities. The success of our service comes from our familiarity with regional managers and administrators, the time we spend getting to know the community and the applicants, our experience, and our understanding of the skills and qualities needed to operate a city.
