General Description

The University of Central Florida's School of Public Administration is dedicated to preparing undergraduate and graduate students who will serve and lead in careers in nonprofit management, urban and regional planning, research administration, emergency management, public administration and public policy. Located in the heart of downtown Orlando, on campus students are within walking distance of countless government offices, nonprofits and private organizations. We also offer a number of our degree and certificate programs online, including the masters and certificate programs in public administration. Graduates join a dynamic alumni network of over 5,000 individuals who are leading the charge for change in local, national and international communities. Whether fully online or in-person, students are immersed in an innovative educational experience that encourages collaboration, provides real-world experiences and enhances leadership skills. UCF's School of Public Administration is recognized as a top 50 public administration school in the nation, according to the 2021 U.S. News & World Report rankings. We were also ranked as #17 in the nation for local government management. Whether students take courses on campus or through the online MPA program, their coursework covers a wide range of topics — incorporating service learning, providing real-world experiences, developing community partnerships and cultivating leadership skills. Students are also able to pursue a dual degree — pairing their MPA program with a graduate degree in nonprofit management or criminal justice. Several of our graduates have gone on to pursue careers in local government across the nation including the City of Orlando, City of Tallahassee and more. With a focus on strategic planning, public policy, organizational management, financial management and more, UCF's NASPAA-accredited Master of Public Administration prepares graduates for a rewarding career in public service or advancement in their current position.
