John G. Kines, Jr. is currently a Commissioner of the Virginia Commission on Local Government. The Commission on Local Government is five member statewide board appointed by the Virginia Governor and is responsible for reviewing and overseeing relationships between State and local governments in Virginia. Kines is a life member of both I.C.M.A. and the Virginia Local Government Management Association. Kines received the I.C.M.A. 35 year service award in 2010.
