Kenny Young currently serves as the City Manager of College Park, Maryland. He began he assumed the City Manager position in September of 2021. Prior to being named City Manager of College Park he served as the County Administrator and Clerk to the Board of Supervisors for Goochland County, Virginia. Prior to Goochland he served as Assistant County Administrator for Loudoun County, Virginia where he oversaw the Departments of Economic Development, Building and Development, Planning and Zoning, and was liaison to Virginia Cooperative Extension--Loudoun County. Loudoun County was one of the fastest growing counties in the United States. More than 70 percent of the world’s Internet traffic passes through Loudoun’s digital infrastructure, making Loudoun a key player in the world’s technology economy. Prior to his position with Loudoun, Young served in several capacities in jurisdictions across the country including Assistant Town Administrator in Capitol Heights, Maryland. Previous to that, he served in a series of progressively responsible positions, including Acting Assistant City Manager, in North Las Vegas, Nevada; Director of Neighborhood Services for the City of North Las Vegas, Nevada, was Vice President of Strategic Solutions, a government affairs consulting firm based in Las Vegas; and served in the County Manager’s Office as a Senior Management Analyst for Clark County, Nevada. Young has a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Master of Public Administration from New Mexico State University. He is a graduate of the Economic Development Institute of the University of Oklahoma and is a member of several professional organizations including the International City/County Management Association and the National Forum of Black Public Administrators where he currently serves as elected member on the Board of Directors.
