Andrea Sirois earned her MPA degree in May of 2018. Andrea was a part of the Accelerated Master’s Program and received her undergraduate degree at the University of Arizona in political science and a minor in environmental studies. During her studies she also worked full-time as Store Manager. Andrea’s interest lies in local government after discovering her passion during her role as Management Intern for the Town of Oro Valley in the Town Manager’s Office. At the Town of Oro Valley, Andrea’s former supervisor, Chris Cornelison (Assistant Town Manager), inspired her to establish the UA ICMA Chapter with a fellow classmate (Brianna Zurita). The Student Chapter composed of 2 boards (ICMA Alumni Committee and ICMA Student Board) was successful in achieving their 2017-2018 strategic plan goals, their fundraising efforts, dispersing student scholarships to the Annual ICMA Conference in Texas, offering professional development events as well as working towards larger initiatives like a Spring Conference and a High School Mentorship Program. The UA ICMA is still an active student group on the University of Arizona campus. Andrea has also worked in the Governor’s Budget Office as an intern and assisted with the publication of the FY19 State Budget. Andrea worked for the Town of Marana as a Management Assistant, before becoming Town Manager in 2020 with the Town of Gouldsboro in Maine.
