Susan K. Thorpe is a Senior Advisor for the Arizona City/County Management Association (ACMA), Susan retired from full time city/county management duty in June 2022. She was the Yuma County Administrator for more than 6 years, and worked for more than 38 years serving cities and counties in Texas, California and Arizona. She is active in state and national professional associations including ICMA, Arizona City/County Management Association, and serves on the Board of the national League of Women in Government. She received the 2023 John J. "Jack" DeBolske Professional Excellence Award from the ACMA, the highest honor bestowed by the Association.
Susan holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and a Master of Public Administration from the University of North Texas (UNT). She is a graduate of Harvard’s John F. Kennedy School program for Senior Executives in State and Local Government. Susan has been an ICMA Credentialed Manager since 2004.
