BA Urban Studies, Oberlin College; MS Urban Affairs/Econ Dev, U Wisc-Milwaukee; worked as a planner in Greensboro, NC and Rochester NY before coming to Takoma Park, MD in 1993; began in planning mgmt and moved into lobbying and general city mgmt; was Deputy City Manager from 2008 through March, 2015, served as Acting City Manager in 2012-13 and again in 2015. Named City Manager in April, 2015. Retired from the City of Takoma Park on July 1, 2021. I currently do consulting work as a Strategic Advisor for the City of Hyattsville, Maryland and serve as a mentor to mid-level professionals.
